Helly Hansen Crew Midlayer 2 is a men’s model that works as a warm midlayer under a shell for tougher passages, and as a lightweight outer layer in dry or light rain conditions. It is hip-length for freedom of movement on deck and lined with Polartec fleece for comfortable warmth without bulk. Two zippered front pockets keep your phone or small items secure, and the handwarmer pockets are fleece-lined so you can quickly warm your fingers. Cuffs and hem are easily adjusted to keep out wind and spray. The jacket is also embroider-friendly with a discreet internal zipper for club or crew embroidery, and the classic hanging loop is right where it should be.

Materials and protection

The shell is based on HELLY TECH Protection, making the jacket waterproof, windproof and breathable. All seams are taped to prevent water ingress, and the outer fabric features DWR (water-repellent treatment) that lets water bead off. The inside is softly lined for comfort when worn directly over a baselayer. Updates such as a more robust zipper and PrimaLoft insulation over the shoulders increase comfort as the weather changes.

Sustainability

The lining is partly made from recycled polyester, the main fabric is bluesign, and the DWR treatment is PFC-free – smart choices that reduce unnecessary chemicals and impact without compromising performance.

Visibility on board

Colors like Flame and Red increase your visibility on deck and in the marina, while more subdued tones blend in for everyday use ashore.

Water column

The water column is 5000 – 10000 millimeters. This places the jacket around the 9000 millimeter level, meaning it handles active days, lighter boating trips and changing weather with recurring rain without sacrificing comfort.

Number of layers

The jacket is constructed in 2 layers: a durable outer fabric is combined with a waterproof membrane, and the inside has a separate lining. This construction provides a soft, quiet feel and great comfort – perfect for leisure sailing, day trips and everyday use.

Performance level

Level “Basic”: these are essentially wind- and rain garments in a sailing design. You get warmth, protection from wind and rain, and the marine look – without the weight and detail level of the most advanced offshore gear. Perfect for day trips, archipelago sailing and dockside life.

Care and reproofing

Close all zippers before washing. Wash with liquid detergent and avoid fabric softener. Wash dark colors separately and do not leave the garment soaking. Tumble dry gently to reactivate the DWR treatment. Use Nikwax Tech Wash for gentle cleaning of technical fabrics and reproof as needed with Nikwax TX.Direct. Always follow the care instructions on the garment.

Delivery time

Stock status and available quantities are shown for each variant/size. If you order items in stock before 12:30 (working days), your order will be dispatched from our warehouse the same day — otherwise on the next working day.

If you order a back-order item (or more than we have in stock), the usual delivery time is 5–9 working days.

The standard shipping cost for this product is €6.49. You can choose other delivery options (such as pickup point or home delivery) which in some cases may cost a little more, but there will always be a €6.49 option.

We offer 365 days for returns. We also make the process simple: we always include a return label in your parcel. You don’t need to fill in forms or paperwork. If you choose to use our return label, we charge €8.90 for the return postage — usually cheaper and simpler than arranging return shipping yourself. We don’t charge any other return fees.
