Gill OS2 Offshore for women is built for long passages when the weather varies. Relaxed Fit gives you freedom of movement and space for base and mid layers without feeling bulky. 2-layer construction (XPLORE) – how it works

The fabric is constructed in two layers: a durable outer shell in recycled nylon is combined with a waterproof, breathable XPLORE membrane and a separate lining. This construction makes the jacket comfortable even during activity, as it ventilates moisture from the inside while keeping rain and spray out. Fully taped seams and mesh drainage panels help water escape and increase comfort onboard.

Water column: 20,000 millimeters

The jacket has a water column of 20,000 millimeters. The level is in the range of 19,000 – 30,000 millimeters and is intended for prolonged exposure in heavy rain or tough weather conditions. This provides reassurance when you are out for long periods and the weather really puts you to the test.

Hood, collar, and water-protective details

The fully lined, neon-colored hood has 2-way adjustment for a stable fit and can be rolled into the collar when not needed. The high fleece-lined collar with chin guard traps warmth and protects the face. At the front is a 2-way YKK zipper with lightweight, anti-corrosive components, protected by double storm flaps that slow water ingress. The cuffs have adjustable outer seals and PU inner seals that prevent spray from creeping up the sleeves. The hem is adjusted with a drawcord to keep out wind and fine-tune the fit.

Pockets and storage

Two deep cargo pockets with secure closure hold gloves and essentials. Behind them are handwarmer pockets with reversible fleece for instant warmth after cold work. Additional handwarmer pockets at chest height with hook-and-loop closure and an internal security pocket with zipper keep your phone and valuables safe. The handwarmer pockets are protected by YKK Aquaguard zippers for extra water protection.

Material and durability

Up to 98% of the jacket consists of recycled material – from abrasion-resistant outer panels to the adjustable hem. XPEL, Gill’s plant-based finish, repels water, dirt, and odor, making the jacket easier to keep fresh and allowing it to dry quickly between uses. Inside, mesh lining and drainage panels provide airy comfort. YKK components with anti-corrosive treatment withstand the salt environment and extend the lifespan.

Performance level: Normal

This garment is at the “Normal” performance level: classic sailing apparel that is waterproof, with a high collar and several protective features. They suit those who spend a lot of time on the boat but are not out for 12-hour shifts in storms and heavy rain. If you are unsure where to start, this is a safe choice.

Fit and use

Relaxed Fit provides room for layering and free movement when working on deck. The jacket is just as useful on a sailboat as on a powerboat or for everyday use in wet weather. All color variants share the same material and features; choose red if you want maximum visibility, or the more discreet Eggshell/Graphite – all have a hi-vis hood and reflective details.

Comparison in the OS series

OS2 Offshore is Gill’s more robust choice for longer trips and harsher weather, with a higher level of protection and more offshore features. OS3 Coastal is the lighter version for coastal and day trips where agility is prioritized. Choose OS2 when you want more long-term protection and features tailored for offshore sailing.

Care instructions

Machine wash at 30°C. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Tumble dry on low heat if needed. Do not iron or dry clean. Rinse with fresh water after use and never store the garment damp. For best longevity: wash with NIKWAX Tech Wash and reproof as needed with NIKWAX TX.Direct.
