When is Gill OS2 Offshore suitable?

Gill OS2 Offshore is a men’s sailing jacket built for long stints on deck in changing weather – from inshore and coastal to true offshore legs. It combines high waterproofness with excellent breathability, keeping you dry from both rain and spray while preventing internal moisture build-up as you work onboard. In Gill’s OS range, OS2 sits between OS3 Coastal (lighter for coastal sailing) and OS1 Ocean (for extreme ocean conditions) – a robust yet flexible solution for frequent sailing.

Hood and collar for protection

The high thermal collar with thermofleece and chin guard traps warmth and protects your neck and chin. The hi-vis hood is lined, can be rolled into the collar, and provides a secure, close fit when the wind shifts and rain comes from the side. Reflective details all around offer 360° visibility at dawn and in darkness.

Dry inside and out – construction that makes a difference

Fully taped seams, 2-way YKK front zipper with anti-corrosion features, and double storm flap keep the weather out. Sleeves are sealed in two steps with adjustable outer cuffs and PU inner cuffs to prevent water from creeping up the arms. Handwarmer pockets are protected by YKK Aquaguard and have reversible fleece inside. The interior is lined with mesh and drainage panels to wick away moisture, and the hem is adjustable with a drawcord to keep out wind and spray.

Pockets and work-smart details

You get spacious cargo pockets for lines and small tools, warm hand pockets, two chest pockets for quick access, and an internal security pocket with zipper for valuables. The placement is well thought out so you can access them even with a harness or life jacket on. Fit: Relaxed Fit – comfortable over base and mid layers without feeling bulky.

Differences between OS26 (Navy) and OS25 (Graphite, Red, Bluejay)

All versions have the same core protection: XPLORE 2-layer waterproof fabric, hi-vis hood that can be stowed in the collar, taped seams, PU-sealed cuffs, all-around reflectors, and pocket solutions with handwarmers, cargo pockets, and inner pocket.

OS26 (Navy) stands out with PFAS-free SHIELD DWR (water-repellent treatment), extra high collar with fold-away face guard, improved 3-way hood adjustment, and stiffened peak. The chest pockets are protected with YKK Aquaguard zippers for better water protection.

OS25 (Graphite, Red, Bluejay) features XPEL treatment that repels water, dirt, and odors, 2-way hood adjustment, and two chest pockets with hook-and-loop closure – a simple and quick opening for immediate access.

Materials and sustainability

Up to 98% of the materials are recycled – from outer fabric to lining and details. The fabric absorbs less water and dries quickly between uses. OS26 uses PFAS-free SHIELD DWR (water-repellent treatment). OS25 has XPEL treatment that also resists dirt and odors, keeping the garment fresher longer and reducing the need for frequent washing. Shell: 100% nylon (recycled content). Lining/fleece: 100% polyester (recycled content).

Water column: 20,000 millimeters

The exact water column is 20,000 millimeters. This means protection designed for prolonged exposure to heavy rain, snow, and tough weather conditions. You can focus on sailing even during really wet hours.

Number of layers: XPLORE 2-layer construction

The fabric consists of a durable outer layer bonded to a waterproof, breathable membrane, with a separate lining next to the body. This two-layer solution makes the jacket soft and comfortable over your layers, while it breathes during activity and provides reliable weather protection as conditions change.

Performance level: Regular

This is classic sailing apparel: waterproof shell, high collar, and smart details that get the job done onboard. They suit those who are often out in most weather but don’t need the heaviest ocean gear.

Care instructions

Machine wash at 30°C with non-biological detergent – we recommend NIKWAX Tech Wash. Never use fabric softener. Tumble dry on low heat only if care instructions allow. Do not iron or dry clean. Rinse in fresh water after use, do not store the garment wet, and reproof as needed with NIKWAX TX.Direct to maintain DWR function (water-repellent treatment).

Delivery time

Stock status and available quantities are shown for each variant/size. If you order items in stock before 12:30 (working days), your order will be dispatched from our warehouse the same day — otherwise on the next working day.

If you order a back-order item (or more than we have in stock), the usual delivery time is 5–9 working days.

The standard shipping cost for this product is €6.49. You can choose other delivery options (such as pickup point or home delivery) which in some cases may cost a little more, but there will always be a €6.49 option.

Returns & right of withdrawal

We offer 365 days for returns. We also make the process simple: we always include a return label in your parcel. You don’t need to fill in forms or paperwork. If you choose to use our return label, we charge €8.90 for the return postage — usually cheaper and simpler than arranging return shipping yourself. We don’t charge any other return fees.
