Bruce anchors and seabeds

NOCK Connector is a Bruce anchor – the most all-round anchor type for leisure boats. The shape helps the anchor dig in and get a deep bite so the boat lies securely when the wind shifts. It works excellently on sand, clay and mud, and also handles mixed seabeds and rock where stable hook contact is needed.

The recommendation for most boat owners is a Bruce anchor as the primary anchor, while long-distance cruisers often choose a delta or plough anchor for maximum redundancy and margins.

Combine with a chain or a leaded Anchor line. The weight makes the anchor line lie along the seabed, which provides a low pull angle and lets the anchor dig in. This in turn secures the hold significantly better than lighter anchor wraps.

Materials and choice

You can choose NOCK Connector in two materials depending on environment and preference. Stainless steel is marine-grade AISI316 that handles saltwater very well. The surface shines and is easy to keep clean because dirt adheres less, and you avoid discoloration on deck and rail.

Galvanized steel is a great-value choice that is especially well suited to freshwater. The anchor is hot-dip galvanized with an extra-thick layer for long durability. In saltwater, galvanizing can over time develop rust spots that mainly affect appearance – not function – making it a cost-effective alternative when finish is not the main concern.

Regardless of material, NOCK Connector provides a deep bite into the seabed and stable anchoring on most seabeds, especially on sand, clay and mud.
